BAHAWALPUR: The viva voce of PhD scholar of the Department of Media Studies Tariq Mehmood Malik was held at the Islamia University’s auditorium of Faculty of Arts. The researcher completed his research work under the supervision of Dr Muhammad Shahzad on the topic: “Usage patterns and impact of smartphones on social behaviour of youth in Pakistan: Challenges and prospects”. Foreign evaluators called for early publication of this most recent and valuable research of the era. The examiners of the open house were Prof Dr Shamsuddin of Karachi University and Dr Noshina Saleem of the Punjab University. The researcher presented his topic and examiners appreciated the research work, calling it a milestone in media research. Foreign experts Prof Jim Avery from the Lord College of Journalism USA and Prof Dr Tim Gergfelder from the Southampton University termed this research an excellent work.
