SRINAGAR: Indian troops Friday killed three youth in a fresh act of violence against Kashmiris demanding an end to foreign occupation.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian occupational forces killed three youth during a violent military operation at Torna Rampur in Uri area of Baramulla district. The operation continued till reports last came in. A senior Indian Army officer was injured in an attack in the same area. Indian Army claimed that the youth were militants and were killed in an encounter with the troops. On the other hand, Indian police fired pellets and teargas shells on pro-freedom rallies of women in Bandipora and Baramulla areas scores of people. Meanwhile, puppet authorities have imposed a curfew and strict restrictions in several parts of Srinagar to prevent a march towards the Jamia Masjid in Srinagar. The call for the march was given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik to observe Youm-e-Istaqlal on Friday.
Srinagar Deputy Commissioner Farooq Ahmed Lone told reporters that there would be curfew in the precincts of Nowhatta, Mehraj Gunj, Rainawari, SafaKadal and Khanyar police stations of the city.
It may be mentioned here that the valley is reeling under curfew since the killing of Burhan Wani, a popular freedom fighter, sparking clashes between Indian forces and civilians.
